Chicago: Garfield Park Conservatory

Another day while visiting Chicago the other week, we took a short ride on the el train from my parents' house in Oak Park to the Garfield Park Conservatory on the west side. G is absolutely thrilled anytime we ride the train, so this would have been a hit no matter where our destination was. But the conservatory is pretty awesome, too, especially for kids this age. They could wander around on the paths, see and sometimes touch interesting plants, and observe waterfalls and fish ponds.

Grant said his favorite part was the cactus room, and if Miles could talk, he would say his favorite was nearly diving into the fish pond. That's my dad's hand in the lower-left hand corner of the picture holding him back.
