A Fashion Sense All His Own

Lately Miles has been really into dressing himself. Outfit changes typically occur several times throughout the day, when he disappears upstairs for five to 10 minutes. He has a morning outfit, a nap time outfit, a dinner outfit. So far what we can tell about his fashion sense is that he likes to wear socks with sandals, he loves pajama pants and he has particularly strong opinions about his socks (which are often mismatched).

Spring Preview

Each morning when G gets dressed lately, he asks, "Can I wear short sleeves? Sandals?" We are all anxiously awaiting spring's arrival. (There are snowflakes falling as I type this.) So at every hint of spring, we've been spending time outside. Being typical boys, they head right for the muddiest spot in the yard to dig with their trucks and dinosaurs. The mud doesn't bother them a bit. They are happy as can be digging, running and climbing.

Grandma and Grandpa Visit

The boys enjoyed a visit from "Grandma and Grandpa Star" over the weekend. (Grant distinguishes the two sets of grandparents by referring to them by their pet's name.) We took advantage of nice weather on one day to make our first trip of the season to the zoo and hit the Botanical Center on another day.

In our endless winter, we are desperate for any signs of spring. Even Grant has noticed: "Mom, it doesn't feel like March." So a visit to the Botanical Center seemed like a good idea on yet another snowy sub-zero day.

This picture of G reminds me of previous pictures taken at this very spot. How can he be so big already?
