| G loved this nativity set at his grandparents' house. |
This year, we counted down the days until Christmas with a simple homemade advent calendar made out of paper rings. G got more excited each day: Every morning we listened to Christmas music in the car on the way to school, and G often sang along as loud as possible.
He had lots of questions and information about Santa: "Is Santa going to bring me presents?" and "You know what happens when you're bad? Santa brings you a lump of cold. Brrrrr." He often walked around the house saying, "Ho ho ho. Merry Christmas," in his deepest Santa Claus voice.
However, he would not sit on Santa's lap. Absolutely not. But he was happy to volunteer Miles to do it.
Miles just loved the Christmas tree, taking the ornaments off one by one when no one was looking. Our tree this year is mostly bare from the bottom down. He was also a fan of Christmas cookies. His sweet tooth explains why I craved so much sugar when I was pregnant with him.
We spent Christmas Eve with the Smiths, a day of sledding, food and lots of presents.

On Christmas morning, the boys were up before the sun. Santa brought lots of goodies, including a new wagon, rocking horse and "Mickey the Mouse."
We had a very merry Christmas season, which only seems to get better each year.
