Happy Halloween

Our little monkey and froggy enjoyed a night of trick or treating last night. (Des Moines does "Beggars' Night" on Halloween eve.) Kent took G from house to house while a sleepy Baby M and I stayed home to hand out candy.

And at the end of the night, G came home, dropped his bag of candy on the floor and ran to the fridge to beg for an apple.

G's Silly Side

This is G's signature move, known as "Crazy Baby," made possible by his crazy long hair. He likes to bust this out when he's feeling a little silly. Or looking for some extra attention.

More Leaf Pictures

We're trying to enjoy every last breath of mild fall weather before we're stuck inside for the long haul. G's current favorite spot is the growing pile of leaves in our backyard. He jumps in them; he rolls in them.

And ever since Kent told G that leaves are "crunchy," he keeps trying to eat them.

Big Boy

G seems like such a boy to me these days. He searches the backyard for crab apples and then attempts to throw them as far as he can. He collects pretty leaves only to rip them apart. The other day, he jumped off the play structure at the playground, fell on his head and then got up and ran away unfazed -- only to do it again a few minutes later. His heroes in life include the 6-year-old neighbor boy, Ike, and Kent (for obvious reasons).

Air

There's something a bit unnerving about seeing your child fly through the air. But G begs Kent, "Daddy, air? Daddy, air?" and giggles like crazy.
