Big Boy

G seems like such a boy to me these days. He searches the backyard for crab apples and then attempts to throw them as far as he can. He collects pretty leaves only to rip them apart. The other day, he jumped off the play structure at the playground, fell on his head and then got up and ran away unfazed -- only to do it again a few minutes later. His heroes in life include the 6-year-old neighbor boy, Ike, and Kent (for obvious reasons).

Air

There's something a bit unnerving about seeing your child fly through the air. But G begs Kent, "Daddy, air? Daddy, air?" and giggles like crazy.

Bathtime

2 Month Baby M

Two month stats: 11 pounds, 8.5 ounces (47th percentile); 23.25 inches long (63rd percentile). He smiles, he coos. His amazing nighttime sleeping took a hit recently thanks to a cold, which was inevitable because his older brother won't stop kissing him.

Here he was just a month ago.

Cousins

My boys are lucky enough to have cousins who are close in age. I took this picture the other day of Miles with his cousin Hudson, who is 11 weeks older. I know they will grow up to be buddies.

Much like this pair. This is Grant with his cousin Grady when they were about one  month old. The boys were born nine days apart. (And here's a more recent picture of them together.)

Apple Picking

  I'm still in denial that it's October already. What happened to summer? But already leaves are crunching under our feet and darkness falls shortly after dinner. We visited Berry Patch Farm again to pick apples and pumpkins last weekend. It was a perfect fall day: cloudless and cool. The apples weren't too picked over and the pumpkins were plentiful. 

A Quick Trip to Chicago

We braved a 5+ hour car ride with the two boys last weekend to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Chicago. While we had a few moments in the car of "what were we thinking?" all in all, the drive wasn't bad and we had a fun weekend. Miles got to meet his great-grandma, Uncle Alex and other family members for the first time. Grant, meanwhile, got to see a hippopotamus and ride a carousel at Brookfield Zoo.

We walked to the Oak Park Farmer's Market with Grandma on Saturday morning.

Grant was thrilled to see a hippopotamus in person at the zoo.

The rhino was cool too.

Riding the carousel. He was a little timid at first, until he learned he could ride on a hippopotamus.

G loved this park near Grandma and Grandpa's house because the el train passed right by it.

Tuckered out after a big weekend.
